After bringing the fresh pumpkin home, give the pumpkin a bleach water bath which will kill all the bacterias on the outside and will also prevent bacterias to entering the inner part of the pumpkin.

Spraying water with a few drops of bleach on the carved pumpkin can be a useful method to keep Pumpkin fresh and bacteria free.

  • Store the pumpkin in a cool place

Whenever you are not flaunting your jack-o-lantern pumpkin, keep it in a plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator. If you dont have a place in the fridge then store in any cool place in your house.

  • Don’t use the real candles

Not using real candles can improve the shelf life of your pumpkin. With the candle heat, the pumpkin starts cooking and soon becomes soft and starts changing its shape. Instead of real candles, you can use flickering flameless candles or glow sticks.
